St. Augustine

Widely regarded as the oldest city in the United States of America, St. Augustine was the city in which Spanish colonisers first laid foot in America. Its Spanish roots are visible at surface level with its many impressive Spanish architectural sites most notably including the Castillo de San Marcos, otherwise known as the Spanish Stone Fortress.

Everglades National Park

The Everglades National Park is the only eco-system in the world within which alligators and crocodiles co-exist in harmony. It is recognized as one of the most unique national parks of America, as it contains many species of reptiles, exotic birds, and even panthers which are more rarely found.

Tallahassee

The capital city of Florida is often underappreciated. It provides a sense of serenity and peace that is not common in the loud and busy state of Florida. If you are a fan of trekking across forests and hills or putting your fishing gear to use in nearby lakes, Tallahassee deserves your attention.

Ichetucknee River

For a unique adventure, take a 2-hour drive from Orlando to enjoy Ichetucknee River, in Ichetucknee Springs State Park. There are several picturesque picnic spots waiting for you. A nice old-fashioned BBQ along the river is also a great activity, alongside the hiking, scuba-diving, tubing, and canoeing that are

already offered.

Kennedy Space Centre

For all the NASA and Space enthusiasts in the world, the Kennedy Space Centre holds great significance. It was the same site where the first ever rocket launch, the Apollo 4 mission, was conducted back in 1967. Try the Visitor Centre’s Shuttle Launch Experience which simulates the experience of astronauts in a space shuttle when it launches off.

Best time to travel to Florida

The best time of the year for visiting Florida is during March-April, or September-October, bearing in mind important factors such as crowds, average weather, and rates. Florida promises high levels of sunshine throughout the year, earning itself the tag “The Sunshine State”. During these months, rainfall is usually

non-existent, and rates are usually cheaper than they would be during June-July when there will also be larger crowds flocking in to visit. A sub-tropical

climate is to be expected throughout the year, which serves as great news for beach enthusiasts.
