About Indian Ocean

There are countless eye-catching Islands located close to each other. The Indian Ocean covers a wide range of the earth’s surface with many well-known islands amongst them too namely, Sri Lanka Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles. The Indian Ocean has many holidays tourist spots, from watching the magical sunsets in Maldives to enjoying Mauritius with its jaw dropping Seven Coloured Earths and travelling through the aroma’s greenery of the Sri Lankan Tea fields. You may also treat yourself with a wildlife safari jeep ride through the National Parks of Sri Lanka all the way to a helicopter flight over the mesmerising craters and canyons of La Reunion.

The Indian Ocean has a dry and warm climate much of the year however the best time to visit depends on the activities and spots you want to cover. The beaches are ideal to go in nearly any week of the year. According to the destination you want to spend your time relaxing in, if you plan on going between October to December, Mauritius is the ideal place with temperatures warrying between 24 to maximum of 28. For a trip between November to April, the Maldives makes a great place with warm dry weather of 29 to 32.

If your heart desires Seychelles, the ideal months are between October and November along with Mauritius so that you don’t catch any trade winds. The island of Sri Lanka makes for a perfect holiday destination in the southern part during December and April to avoid the monsoon season, the other areas are ideal between May to September when the monsoons have passed.

Since it’s a tropical area, fresh seafood is the main appetite there with typical high spices. Along the way, you’ll be biting into a lot of tropical fruits, sipping coconut juice from a fresh cut coconut and obviously drink some pina colada on the peach.

Since the climate there is warm and dry with a lot of beaches, the ideal clothes to wear are shorts and beach shirts. The sun can shine very bright too so a nice colourful hat and some glasses would add to the fashion. While travelling through the islands, a mosquito repellent would help a lot as the greenery around attracts a lot of mosquitos. Sunblock and some water protective bag and cameras would go a long way to prevent you from stopping the fun even in extreme climates.
